Did you know that hemp contains more than 400 active ingredients, and most of them support one another, meaning the effect of one cannot function without the other? However, the higher the percentage of CBD in a product, the lower the proportion of other cannabinoids.
CBD, or cannabidiol, is found in every hemp plant and is known for its particularly calming, analgesic, blood pressure-lowering, anti-inflammatory and sleep-promoting properties, among others.
Unlike the notorious THC (narcotic cannabinoid), CBD is not psychoactive or addictive, and its main purpose is to support health. Our bodies also have an endocannabinoid system, inherited from our ancestors from 600 million years ago. The endocannabinoid system is a biological system of the body, comprising cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids (cannabinoids produced in the body) and the enzymes that break them down. It plays a very important role in maintaining the body’s internal balance. Researchers have determined that the endocannabinoid system regulates sleep, mood, appetite, memory and fertility, and participates in many other functions.
But there are many CBD products of various concentration. Which one to choose?
People who have problems like sleep deprivation tend to go for the strongest one, thinking that it is definitely the most effective. In reality, latest research shows that less is more when it comes to CBD. This can easily be illustrated by the relationship between CBD and THC. In Estonia, hemp products may contain up to 0.3% of THC (this amount is so low that it does not cause addiction or psychoactive effects). The health-supportive effects of CBD would not work without THC, as its effects manifest only when it starts combating the negative effects of that tiny percentage of THC.
However, we are all different and what works better for one person may not work as well for someone else. For example, we have received customer feedback about Relaxationland’s CBD hemp teas, claiming that our light (1%) and berry teas (2%) have much better effects on some people’s sleep than our strong tea (4%). But we have also received the opposite feedback, so it is important to experiment and know your body to find what works best for you. This is why we have put together assorted sets, available HERE, so you can try the effects and taste of different products.
As for CBD oils, there is no question. Based on the latest research, 5% and 10% CBD oils are much more effective than 30% CBD oils, as oils with a lower concentration have a higher percentage of other cannabinoids that support CBD.
When purchasing CBD products, it is essential to make sure that it is a full-spectrum product, meaning it contains all cannabinoids to maximise its efficiency.
This is what makes CBD tea a great and delicious solution!
